Profiles link back
What we check
Your structured data’s sameAs lists your profiles elsewhere: LinkedIn, GitHub, X, Wikidata, and so on. For each one that we could open (see the sameas-resolve rule), we look for your domain on the profile page. The score is the share that link back. If none of your profiles could be opened, we skip the check.
Your domain has to appear as a whole, so wearefaculty.com doesn’t count as a link back to faculty.com.
Why it matters
Anyone can claim a profile. A link in only one direction — your site saying “that’s us” — is a claim. A link in both directions — the profile saying “this is our site” — is confirmation. AI systems that merge what they know about an entity look for exactly this: two places that vouch for each other.
How to pass
- Open each profile the detail names.
- Add your website address to it — most profiles have a “website” field, or put it in the bio:
https://example.com - Use the same address you use everywhere else (https, the same www or no www), so it matches.
